At age 18 years old, Ladd had her first appearance as an amateur in WCFC. Ladd was on a stunning 3-fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat. In all three, she finished her opponent in the very first round. Following that, she travelled to WCFC to win again, beating Leslie Rodriguez in a unanimous decision. Aspen won over Silvia B beghian and Maddy Simmons prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia was defeated by Aspen by unanimous decision. The loss put a mark on her record as an amateur. Aspen utilized her formidable wrestling skills to take down McGill and ended her via third-round TKO(elbows as well as punches). Aspen took on Jessica Hoy, at Invicta FC 18.
